Last night Alain invited us to the grand opening of his new restaurant Xangpuak in Green Valley. I’m not a huge fan of travelling out west, but there was no way I was going to miss out on this!
The restaurant was full, the staff (Alain’s whole family) were beautiful. Food came out so fast and it was all mindblowingly amazing. So good I went back again tonight! Tonight I ordered a Pad Thai, massive test right? But damn the Pad Thai blew minds, we smashed it and had to order another one.
So proud of Alain, who was working hard tonight and last night. So jealous that he’s been eating this amazing food at home ever since he was a kid, but hey so happy he’s now sharing! I’m planning on being a regular, as there’s SO much more food on the menu I have yet to try!
Love the logo.
Alain, who was so professional (lol). So strange to be waited on by him!
Prawn entree was delicious.
Satay sauce was so good.
If you love ox tongue, you’ve got to order this off the char grill. Delicious!
Don’t order boiled rice, instead order the sticky rice which you can eat with your hands. Awesome.
Beef Salad was so fresh.
You must order the pork. Taste explosion!
Pow Pow Pow! Char Grilled Chicken had so much flavour.
Alain’s dish! The salmon salad had me sweating, but it’s damn amazing and was a favourite of many.
Lart Nah is a dish I always look for on a Thai menu, and it’s never there. SO excited when I saw it on the menu at Xangpuak. So excited to try all the other traditional dishes on the menu.
I was way too stuffed for dessert but I stole some of Krysti’s and gahhhhh, my gawd. Crispy pastry instead of that doughy stuff you usually find on friend ice cream? Genius!
