Today I was introduced to Nick Cummins of Electrogusto who convert classic cars to electric, and man they’ve got a lot of wild projects on the go. Visiting his shop in Petersham and meeting his crew brought back huge ZEN Leichhardt memories for me. It’s a grungy space; texture, grit, all juxtaposing against the super clean 356 Porsche tribute speedster and 1973 VW Type 3 squareback wagon found on the lot.
Jumping from project to project it’s evident that Nick is a ‘yes man’. Where my mechanics and I have struggled to fabricate parts to make my cars work, Nick and his crew just get down and make things happen. Whether it’s a 3D printed dashboard, console, custom switches or engine mounts, I get the feeling these guys can literally do anything (and that’s a rare thing!).
Was an absolute pleasure to meet Nick. The man is a unicorn and I feel blessed to have met another real one. I had no intentions of making a feature out of the visit, but I had my Ricoh GR in my pocket so I rattled off a few off-the-cuff shots. Would really love to revisit Nick with Nick (Turner) and shot more photos and some video too so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime check out the AMAZING short film on the Electrogusto web site: https://www.electrogusto.com.au
Thank fuck it wasn’t in my size!
So close but so far. Been looking for some carbon S-WORKS cranks for the SL6, these were a bit too beaten up (a steal for $80 though!).
This guy is making his own bike packing bags and accessories, follow @olden_monkey__
Also ducked inside to check out their shop. They’re doing God’s work here.
Today I went down the road to check out the Revolve ReCYCLING Wheels & Deals Market. Revolve ReCYCLING recover, recycle and redeploy bikes. They give new life to old rides and give hundreds of free bikes to kids as well as employ people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Was a great day out, great vibes, good people and lots of treasure to dig through (you know what they say, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure!).

CarbonWorks founder claims Topeak bike bottle cage infringes brand’s own design.
As a designer I know what it feels like to have your work ripped off by others, in this case Topeak, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of cycling accessories, has clearly ripped off the CarbonWorks bottle cage.
So what do you do? You support the OG. At 112,50 € it’s the most expensive water bottle cage I’ll ever buy, but hey, Art isn’t cheap.
A while back I spotted this 100mm -12 Extralite stem on FB Marketplace but the seller reduced the price and thought I’d buy it in case the 120mm -6 didn’t work out.
May all the beauty to be blessed. Ah bless the Chinglish! Gotta love it!
My order for the Cadex bars through my LBS got refunded (out of stock) so I found these EXS R175 Road Handlebars on Panda Podium. Bit heavier than the Cadex, but quality looks really good.
Check the weight on these bad boys! Free socks! First time dealing with Panda Podium, and man these bars got to me in 6 days. So quick! Very happy.
We did it guys! The unicorn! The elusive Cane Creek eeBrake adapter for the SL6 Tarmac. Such a tiny little thing for such a massive headfuck!
Test fit. Yes, perfect. Hnnng! So happy!
More goodies for the SL6 came in the mail today. Super close now!
