WE’VE FOUND A SPACE!

Baby steps, but we’ve found an amazing warehouse space in Marrickville to call home. We’ll start with a few end of month events and aim to get Saturdaze at ZEN going again. So keen to get the community together once more. Stay tuned for more info. Insanely exciting times!

Jay is the man.

Sneaker freaks “The Kickz Stand” held their inaugural Sneaker Swap Meet at Zen Garage Leichhardt in 2013 and it was a massive success with many touting it as the biggest sneaker swap meet Sydney has ever had.

Since then The Kickz Stand has established a lifestyle tour that tours across all major cities in Australia.

Founder Jay Mijares is one of those rare beasts. He’s selfless, generous, insanely passionate and he continues to put everything he’s got into his community. When Jay invited us out to his 2024 Sydney event we thought we’d drag Sydney based Artist Nanami Cowdroy along as well as take a few snaps!

Monthly coffee catch ups with Nick progressed to weekly rides and whilst I thought I was in a good place before, I’m blown away at how much better a place I’m in now.

Motivation is infectious. I’ve never been without it up until a few years ago where I truly dropped the ball. Nick’s motivation to work on ZEN Garage has inspired me in more ways than one. It’s got to be a combination of things; getting off the couch, exercise and stimulating conversations (talking shit!).

Whatever it is I’m grateful and for the first time in a long time I’m very fucking excitable!

Melbourne based photographer Curt Liddell is our first new ZEN contributor, his first assignment; WTAC! Nick and I had him over at my place last night for intros.
