Nanami Process Pics

Nanami’s working on something automotive related! Can’t give away too much, but here are a couple of sneaky shots I snapped earlier this morning.

Lost At E Minor party

Headed down to the Lost At E Minor party last Thursday night which was held in a lane way in Haymarket.

Extreme Gelati DJs were banging out great tunes, artist James Jirat Patrodoon splattered the walls with fluoro work (some of it animated too).

Must get James to save me a few of these prints for Zen Garage!

This guy was doing haircuts in the corner. Bizarre?! I’ve been meaning to get a haircut lately. Not had one since I was 15… thinking short back and sides for a change, but wasn’t man enough to get it done on the night!

These refreshing Milagro drinks went down WAY too easy.

Maroubra Beach to Bondi Beach Coastal Walk

Spent the glorious day in the sun with Jess today. We thought we’d do the coastal walk from Maroubra Beach to Coogee, but ended up going all the way through to Bondi Beach (then then Bondi Junction to catch a bus back home!!!).

Lurline Bay.

Hey Jess!

Serious rock hopping.

Don’t touch my flowers… please.

Lots of nice houses to admire.

Love these wooden walkways over the marsh areas close to Coogee Beach.

Coogee Beach.

Gordons Bay.

Clovelly Beach.

Waverly Cemetary.

Rock wall walk into Bronte Beach.

Bronte Beach.

Tamarama Beach.

And whoo hoo! 4hrs later we made it to Bondi Beach!

James Blake at the Opera House

Blake whipped out the grand for the encore.

I saw James Blake perform live at the Opera House last night. I love Retrograde (in contention for song of the year for me), but I hadn’t really heard much more of his other stuff. I knew he was a pretty amazing muso (it’s the long fingers!) so I knew I was in for a treat, that and the fact that I’d never seen a concert at the amazing Opera House before.

Jess got us awesome seats with an amazing view (luckily Blake was on our side of the stage), the sound in the Opera House was bang on and makes me want to see more live acts there. Blake was great too. I’m officially a fan.

Miles’ 2nd B’day Party

My sister Jamie outdoes herself every time!

Unfortunately Fuel 4 Charity and my nephews 2nd B’day Party clashed. I ended up dropping in to Miles’ party early, then headed off to Fuel 4 Charity afterwards. I got Miles a massive fire truck (it’s almost bigger than him!). He loved it :)

13 Rooms

Human revolving door was a lot of fun to walk through.

Claustrophobic!

Hirst’s trippy piece was the first room, and damn it was a great way to get into the show.

Caught up with an old College Of Fine Arts friend Carla yesterday and we checked out 13 Rooms which brings together 13 big name Artists (Marina Abramović and Damien Hirst to name a few) and more than 100 performers to present a group exhibition of ‘living sculpture’ within 13 purpose-built rooms.

Interactive. I love this kind of art! Having to walk through a door, and not knowing what you’re going to get on the other side of it. Brilliant and totally immersive.

It’s free, and it ends this weekend so get in there before you miss it. More details: http://kaldorartprojects.org.au/13rooms

Excursion to MOTOR Magazine HQ

Iain took us straight down to the carpark to check out some loaner cars. Lower half of the new Boxter taillights are so 997.

RS4 Avant – Loved this thing. What a beast!

Iain’s T-Shirt suggests that he has a mangina. Drinks excessive amounts of Baileys – from a shoe. Likes clubs where people wee on each other.

A vintage 1964 (964!) issue of MOTOR Magazine, awesome right?!

An article inside it written by Bruce McLaren.

Photography mood board, very cool.

So privileged; we got to check out the next issue of MOTOR Magazine in progress. Sorry, had to blur out the spreads!

Great to see that Iain had Zen bookmarked on his browser :)

A few weeks ago Iain Kelly (Editor of MOTOR Magazine) visited us at Zen Garage for a great chin wag, we caught up again today, this time at MOTOR Magazine HQ in Sydney CBD. We got to check out some current loaner cars in the staff carpark (perks of the job!) and we also got to check out the MOTOR Magazine office, take a sneek peek at the next issue in progress as well as chat about Iain’s awesome plans for the future of MOTOR Magazine.

Snake Snake Snake

Garry Trihn’s piece.

Yesterday I dropped in to see Snake Snake Snake, an art exhibition underneath Town Hall. Was pleasantly surprised to see one of my mate Garry’s pieces in the exhibit. Not sure I dug how he presented his work, but I’m a massive fan of his and once I got into checking each and every photograph out I was instantly smiling, and giggling inside. Love his humour!
