I dropped in to Kensington, to see how the Raijin Fujin guys were going with their new toy shop and man it’s come a long way since I last swung by! They’ve got these awesome huge display cabinets in there loaded with just as huge sculptures. The shop is off to a great start!

I’m hanging out with the Raijin Fujin crew again today, this time checking out the progress on their new shop in Kensington Sydney (where I used to live as a kid in high school so the area brings back HEAPS of memories!).
The shop is amazing. It’s got plenty of space with storage, a great office and even a kitchen out back. Plenty of natural light, great shop front and a very busy Anzac Parade outside. The glass display cabinets arrive in the next few weeks and they’ll take the shop fit-out next level!
FINALLY got to hang with Maza on Monday! Was a super grey day but we planned to spend it indoors anyways getting crafty with one of my Crystal Head Vodka bottles!
Day 6 saw us get right into our final bit of shopping for Raijin Fujin in and around Denden Town.
I spotted this Voltes V robot I have in my lounge room (which I’ve owned since I was a kid) but selling brand new in a box. Wait till you see the price…

Day 6 was another huge day of shopping with Raijin Fujin. The guys did well today and have bust weight capacity pretty much! With shopping done the guys treated me to a trip to HKS Kansai, just up the road from their home. More in the next post!
I’ve been having a blast working on RAIJIN FUJIN, an upcoming Japanese hobby shop. It’s awesome how shit comes together when you’re having fun! 100+ followers on the Instagram account already, and plenty of interest in general.
I’m super psyched to be travelling to Japan with these guys next week to help them buy goods for the store. It’s honestly the dream job!!! I get flown to Japan to go toy shopping!!!!
I have a pretty good idea what toys to bring over, but if anyone’s after anything specific let me know. Anything from figurines, car hobby kits, cosplay, sweets and snacks etc.

Logo mockups for RAIJIN FUJIN. I’ve taken inspiration from Japanese Family Crests, and have pretty much designed a family crest for my client’s kids Raijin/God of Lightning and Fujin/God of Wind.
My client surprised me with a ticket to Japan NEXT WEEK! I’ll be flying with these guys to buy stock for the new shop! More on that later!
I ordered this (expensive!) VTS Toys Division action figure a year ago, and I never got it. I figured I got ripped off as it was on a strange/ugly site, and it was a pre-order, but hey, it came today!
It’s HUGE, and very much like a Barbie and Ken doll, pretty awkward! Love the detail but, super cool! #geekout!

Won’t lie, life’s been pretty awesome without a phone for a couple of months (!!!), but I semi-lamentably made the steps to reconnect again. Question was: iPhone 7, or 7 Plus?! I asked Facebook and most suggested the Plus.
I’m not a fan of the camera on the 7, but pretty damn impressed with the tricky fake bokeh the plus’ camera pulls off in “portrait mode”. I ended up hovering over the 7 buy now button for ages, but in the end I just hit the buy now button on the Plus.
Free Shipping, availability read next day, but then on checkout (after payment) I get a message to say shipping is free but will take a week OR I could go pick it up the next day. Lame Apple! Definitely a little misleading!
I ended up waiting a day for the phone to be delivered to a local newsagent down the road, then I headed in to Vodafone to see if I could get my old number back, turns out it was a painless 2 minute job!
Looking forward to being able to internet bank again (damn banking web site sends confirmation codes to my phone!), kinda miss Instagram too tbh!
