Google are a bunch of creepers

google

OH, forgot to mention… the other day on my B’Day I saw this on Google. At first I was like “Holy shit! I wonder if the B’Day cakes are a coincidence” then I rolled over the image and BOOM! Happy Birthday Justin?! Come on Google, that’s not smart, that’s just plain fucking creepy!

Happy B’Day to me

5am
5am automatic wake-up, again! That’s 3 times in a row now, old man!

39 today! Under the radar as expected (never been one for celebrating B’Days). I’ve taken the day off work and have decided to treat myself to a few goodies on eBay despite the fact that I’m meant to be saving up for my Japan trip at the end of this year.

I sold my set of BBS RS’ a few weeks ago and I was paid for in cash, unfortunately all that cash is pretty much gone! It’s awesome treating friends to stuff when you’re loaded! Probably not the smartest thing to hold on to the cash though (really should have deposited it into my bank account).

So what did I buy?

I started with a Samyang 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye lens for my spare GF1. I’d seen a lot of cheap fisheye lenses on eBay and I knew they weren’t going to be any good, so I did my research and this lens has rave reviews world wide. It’s pricey (costs twice as much as the GF1 it’s going on!) but I’m pretty sure I’ll have a bit of fun with it.

Whilst I was in camera land I also bought myself a view finder for my GF1, a spare lens cap for my 20mm pancake lens, a lens cleaning kit, a spare charger and battery for the GF6 too.

I also treated myself to a new Bose SoundLink III bluetooth sound dock. I went for the big one. Looking forward to streaming soundcloud around the house with that for sure.

I think I’d better stop there. Now for some quality Mia and Justin couch time catching up with some of my fave TV shows, then later on I’ll be heading off in search for fried chicken and after that, drinks!

Goodbye SPAMVENTDOCUMENT

svd
Goodbye SPAMVENTDOCUMENT. You were awesome.

I’ve been running SPAMVENTDOCUMENT as my personal blog since 2008 (check out my first post here). I used to run a blog in the 90’s, even before Blogger was invented, back then we used to update our blogs by editing HTML and FTPing updated files.

A lot of technologies have advanced since the 90s (I used WordPress now and it’s awesome) but I still find blogging pretty much the same despite. Ultimately, I find blogging therapeutic, it’s just become something that I do. I spam, I vent and I document. I also like to be able to search back through my life, using the search field of-course, for certain images/events/memories.

So, no more “hiding” behind a funny name. On a whim I’ve decided to kill off SPAMVENTDOCUMENT and I’ve now moved everything to: http://www.justinfox.com.au. It feels better already!

Mimi Kumai Haircut No.2

mimi_kumai

mimi_kumai_haircut

Recently I had my first haircut since I was 15, and it’s been growing out, fast as expected. I’ve thought about cutting my own hair again, but I doubt I’d pull it off so I contacted Mimi Kumai again, and somehow managed to con her into coming over to my place to cut my hair on a day off (both her day off and mine as well!).

SO happy :) Mimi’s off to Japan to live soon too, pretty sad considering I’ve only just found her! If you’re after one of her cuts, be sure to book her in ASAP.

Stonehenge

Jump around, jump around. Jump up jump up and get down! Nanami and I finally got to Stonehenge, a re-imagined life-size inflatable at Hyde Park. Rolled my ankle (lol old man) but had heaps of fun!

Cranium

Could not resist checking out ‘Cranium’, a skull art exhibition held at M2 Gallery in Surry Hills (because I love skulls!).

The Dirt. My fave piece on the night.

Skateboard Parking Only.

I so need a Sophia Fitzpatrick ring!

Mike Watt’s piece could have been mine if I didn’t rock up so late.

Dressed for the occasion. Lachlan Bruce’s back.

Loved Amy Sutherland’s working retro fridge.

The infamous Young Henrys!

Amazing piece by Meghan Byrne.

Yup, wow. Loved both pieces by Atong Atem.

Lovely piece by Caryn Griffin.

Owning oneself

MKVR32 vs MX-5.

Not sure what it is about making my life harder for myself, creating problems to keep life interesting? Maybe it’s just a guy thing, or maybe it’s just me?

Last week I decided, out of the blue, to put my MKVR32 Golf up for sale. I put it on forums, as well as carsales. Once I had put the word out I couldn’t help but refresh forum threads, and check messages on my phone in hope that someone would just buy it.

Why did I put it up for sale? The MX-5 has lots to do with it. It’s just such a fun toy car to play with, and I want to modify it much more, and I figured that selling the Golf would give me plenty of cash to play with… but that’s just so illogical as the toy then takes priority over everything else. I quickly realised I was doing it all wrong and I’ve since removed all the classifieds posts, even the listing on carsales (that was a waste of $100!).

I’ve just got to chill out on the MX-5 and stop buying so much shit for it. It’s a toy. It’s never going to be my main daily driver because I’m not sure I could live with it (image issues, and there will always be times when I’m in the MX-5 yet wish I was in my other car/s).
