Another shoot with Cara

cara_ocean_1

Had my second shoot with Cara yesterday, and whilst our first shoot was pretty hot, we got even hotter this time! Some of the shots were a little too hot to use in the end and that’s made me question a few things.

I’ve had quite a bit of time to assess and re-assess what I’ve been doing with photography lately. I’m still learning so much, and hungry to push myself further. My concerns about people questioning the validity or respectability of my new “hobby” is slowly but surely being put to rest and I’m starting to be more open to trying new things, be it a maternity shoot (on the cards in the next few months!) or erotic, which I think might be a tougher than I expect as I can’t say that I like the idea of people fapping over my images, so shooting erotic photography whilst still keeping it “classy” (need a better word for this, “real” perhaps?) will be a challenge.

Ultimately I’m trying my best to shoot and capture something beautiful with the person in front of me, with as little direction and post editing as possible. Who am I to tell my models what poses to do, or what to wear? I simply shoot what’s in front of me to my best ability and I’m starting to feel really comfortable with that.

You can view the full set here (warning though, as mentioned above, some of the images are a little racy!). Click: http://www.justinfoxphoto.com/#/cara-1/

Small Win

facebookreport

Someone reported a photo I uploaded to my own personal facebook page. Really?! Facebook let me know that they were going to review the report over the next 2 days, and they gave me the option of deleting my post (which I wouldn’t of-course!). Within a few hours I got a message to tell me they reviewed my image and found that it didn’t violate their guidelines on nudity. It’s a small win, but it feels significant (and good!).

Photoshoot with Natalie

natalie_ocean

Spent a grey Saturday day shooting with Natalie last weekend. Natalie’s a switched on Environmental Science student who sings well, drives a convertible BMW 1 series, has a thing for hiking and competed in this year’s Miss Australia Chinese Pageant. Shooting with Nat was much like hanging out, which is what I strive for with all my shoots! We shot at the beach house (a7s + 55mm Zeiss). I hope you enjoy the shots.

Had a really special shoot with Kimmy yesterday. Beautiful girl, great conversation.

I’m starting to wish I could publish the stories. Over the 3 or so hours of shooting each girl I usually get to know them as best I can (in order to capture the person as best I can), and some of the stories I hear… amazing (personal, sensitive and fascinating).

Photoshoot with Naomi

Had the pleasure of shooting with this lovely girl yesterday. I first met Naomi at a pub around about 2 years ago. We clicked, and talked (maybe I did all the talking?!) all night. I randomly dropped her a message recently asking if she’d like to catch up, and shoot. She’d never done a shoot before, and was a little nervous about it, but after a bit of chatting that nervous energy soon turned into excitement and yesterday we got together to take some shots at the beach house.

Panasonic Lumix LF1

That Leica feeing.

So thin, definitely fit nicely in my pocket.

DSPTCH camera straps are awesome!

I’ve been wanting a tiny pocket cameras for a while now. It was going to be between the LF1, or the LX7 (which has way better depth of field but is a fair bit larger than the LF1). It’s been a year now of um and erring about which one to get, but the other day Jing bought a Ricoh GR and that pushed me over the edge to make a purchase (lol). I ended up going with the Panasonic Lumix LF1, it’s TINY, shoots in raw, has an electronic viewfinder and Wi-Fi too.

I also bought a DSPTCH wrist sling for it too. Love DSPTCH products as they’re all interchangable via quick release buckles. I often unclip my straps when shooting indoors and these DSPTCH straps make it a breeze to do so.

Photoshoot with Sophie Moyle

Had a fun shot with Sophie Moyle last weekend. Sophie’s an artist and a keen violinist too so we got along like a house on fire. We shot both at my place, and the beach house. You can check out all the final pictures on my photography portfolio: http://www.justinfoxphoto.com/sophie
