Nyaw puppies.
Nyaw!
Hallo fishies.
LOL.
Maxy. He’s a big boy now!
Attack cat.
Eating tree.
Eating decorations. Haha.
Bleaching acro. :(
It’s that time of year again, heat builds up in the house and water temperature shoots up. It’s not so much an issue except that I keep hard corals, the hardest corals to keep in an aquarium. Just like the barrier reef, when the water heats up too much the corals bleach (die). And last night I came home to a temperature reading of 29.5 degrees and 2 bleached corals, shame as my tank has been doing so well.
Last year I had a huge fan blowing across the surface of the water, it helped pull down the temperature by 2 degrees but it blew up, in flames too. Luckily I was around to hear, smell and then see and put out the flames. I could have lost the whole house!
I won’t be taking the risk this time. If all my hard corals die I’ll just have to admit defeat and I’ll still to easier soft corals (which don’t seem to mind the heat).
Saving the worst for last I also lost my Dori the other day. I’ve had my blue tang since November 2007. They’re not an easy fish to keep so I’ve done well in keeping it so long, but not well enough. Can’t tell what killed it, the temp, lack of food (looked skinny). I won’t be buying a replacement. :(
All big eyed and fluffed up in the morning.
Tough cnut Max. This was last night, he was sitting on the couch funny with his arms up on the couch armrests.
He’s 6-7 months old now? He’s heavy and his head is tiny, but his body is HUGE. He’s going to be a big boy!
DECEMBER 2010.
TODAY.
Love the acro growth! I had no idea until I dug up an older photo. Such an awesome feeling to know I’m growing the most demanding stuff you can keep in a salt water aquarium, with ease too! Pat on the back me!
Still going so strong thanks to all the automation! The dosing is the real secret to keeping hard corals I think, without the dosing system I have in place all of it would have died many years ago.
Yucky salty mess, full of growing little feather duster worm things! I had to refill the N/P reducing pellets (solid vodka dosing), was all but gone, sure lasted ages though, very cool.
Miles sucking mama’s finger.
Suga having a go.
Uncle Justin!
Jasper the Abyssinian approves.
Dropped in to see Miles today, had a good go at cradling him, so awesome! :)
