Nana’s Studio

Unfinished octopus piece on the left easel is so mine. I love it (lots).

Even her sketch pad is inspirational.

Fishies!

Bullshit right? All done with archival ink pens. Detail is insane.

Without saying too much: Nanami’s been doing a bit of work for Smirnoff lately and when Smirnoff’s digital team called for a meeting to discuss a social media strategy she asked me to sit in on the meeting as Nana’s not at all into anything web (Facebook, what’s that?). The Smirnoff team were there to shoot images of her studio so I thought I’d sneak a few in too, enjoy :)

PS: More of her work on her site: http://www.nthread.net/

Sonny & Mina

Beautiful Mina walking down the isle.

The deed is done!

Best food I’ve ever had at a wedding, hands down. Cooked to perfection, insanely mind blowing!

The photobooth was an AWESOME idea!

Christina and I stayed in the Gibraltar Hotel Bowral – so nice, so clean, very modern, perfect!

Had the privilege of being invited to Sonny and Mina’s wedding in Bowral this weekend. Christina and I drove up on the Saturday morning and decided to stay the night knowing how much of a party animal Son can be!

The wedding was lovely, casual… loose even! The MC was a nutter, the speeches were so heart felt I almost cried and the party had nearly everyone intoxicated!

Matthew Mead was the photographer too, looking forward to his pics!

Grafikspam

Mr. Layugan (pronounced like the Street Fighter character Ryu’s famous ‘Hadouken!’).

Epic catchups with my brother from another mother (BFAM!) Christian Layugan the other night. He’s been living it up pimp stylez in Miami for a few years now, but he’s one of those mates where the last time we hooked up just feels like yesterday.

Check out Christian’s site: http://www.grafikspam.com

Infront Insight #09: Toby&Pete

Poster.

Toby & Pete.

Their presenter, ready to go.

Talking at the Apple Store must be a unique experience. You have to stand up on this little black box, in front of you there’s an audience, behind the audience are Apple Store customers and to the right of you there’s George St foot and road traffic.

Outside Inside.

We like to get our speakers to sign their posters post talk. Apple records the talks too and the Podcasts go live on iTunes.

Last night we invited dynamic duo Toby&Pete to speak at our monthly Infront Insight talk at the Apple Store Sydney. Was an amazing talk, these guys are awesome at what they do, and they’ve created a superteam of sorts. It’s our last talk for the year too, hopefully we’ll be invited to do more talks at the Apple Store next year!

INfront Studio Profile with 21-19

We’ve just launched a new Studio Profile on INfront, this time with my old buddy, and INfront co-founder Domenic Bartolo from 21-19. Click here for the full feature. Dom’s such a passionate guy, it’s well worth the read.

CATC Design School Talk

Hey it’s my name on a poster!

The students.

I was invited to do a talk today at CATC Design School in The Rocks, Sydney. Turns out they take up a few floors in the Ken Done building, awesome heritage building which had open plans and lovely exposed beams and wooden poles.

Talk started off a little shaky for me, a combination of not having done a talk in ages and not having the best preparation as I’ve been down with the flu for about a week, but at some stage my ears popped and I could hear myself properly, got in the zone and did AOK.

Talks are always rewarding and I’m always happy to give out as many secrets as I can.

X-ART

Tiffany @ x-art.com.

About 5 years or so ago I was in touch with Californian Photographer Brigham Field. He was pretty excited about Sex in Art, we swapped a few emails and even got speaking on the phone. At the time he was making baby steps towards X-ART, a new project which today is one of the largest porn sites of it’s kind (much classier than your usual stuff).

I won’t be linking to it (wouldn’t want you to be offended, or worse yet, lose your job over it!), but I’m excited to say that after all these years of Brigham and I wanting to work together we’re finally doing it. I’ve been appointed the creative director on a new X-ART project. Can’t say much right now, but it involves a lot of creativity. It’s my first week on the job, will say, and hopefully show more when I can.
