MJ takes a rad photo. Here are a few pics he took of the golf yesterday:

Private track day at Wakefield yesterday. Almost destroyed me as I was feeling pretty fat and tired from the Melbourne trip! (we only got back the night before!).
The drive was painful but hey, cruise control (can’t complain!). This time around I had my seats in (still no harnesses though) and my new Brembo front brakes too.
I’m now 1 second faster. Man I hate this track so much it pisses me off to no end. I’m either going in too hot or not carrying enough speed because I’m braking too hard. Grrrr!
Yonas and Zi were there. I tried to keep up with Yonas, impossible!
This FD was on the track. Surprised me as I thought it was all show but damn it’s fast, sounds insane and respect for tracking with those massive SSR’s too!
Zi’s new company car. Mods should make their way onto the car soon.
George from Slippery Little Suckers came along for the day. I’m not sure he had too much fun in his Statesman though. Lack of headroom meant that he had to bend over as his helmet was hitting his roof all day!
A lot more pics here.
We now officially haunt the cafe’s on Degraves for breakfast every trip.
We hooked up with one of Christina’s work mates and checked out the Tim Burton exhibit at Fed Square. Massive exhibit which featured a lot of sketches and work from when Burton was a little kid (which was totally awesome to see). So many “untitled” works. I can’t say I’m a huge Burton fan but I enjoyed seeing so much process. Highlights for me were reading hand written letters he writes to actors on set (looks like he doesn’t email or text!) and seeing a lot of the amazing work that his team do. IE: The teams that make his cute sketches reality really are just as amazing as Burton himself.
That night we had a combined VWGolf.net.au + JDMST meet at Melbourne’s Docklands. John/Pharkus and his wife picked us up from the hotel to take us there which was super nice of him.
You never know what’s going to rock up to a JDMST meet. This old skool Corolla was awesome.
The Golfs.
Silver MKIV so clean it still had it’s warranty sticker on it.
Terrence/Big Yellow’s beasty R32.
The Integras.
Sugoi. So hot huh? Girl owner too.
Nice S2.
The lads.
Small meet but great company!
Ozhonda is Australia’s largest Honda Forum and they’ve just updated their VBulletin software and skin. Winode (founder and owner of Ozhonda) asked me if I’d like to re-design their banner and I was more than happy to oblige.

Dropped in to JDMyard yesterday. Zi has some new wheels in stock and he wanted to make sure they fit on the Golf (which they did!). Here are a few pics:
Andy was there too which was cool, hadn’t seen him in aaaages.

Last month’s meet captured on video! Christina makes an appearance in the middle and the clip ends with us leaving in the GT-R :)
Last night a fair few VWGolf.net.au members braved the cold and rain and headed out to KK’s.
Warm doughnuts, mmm.
It was too early to go home for some, and of-course we wanted a better look at some of the cars so a few of us cruised over to Fox.
More photos from the night here.
Lucky cat was watching over us tonight.
Seats are IN!!!
They feel sooo good. If anything I might lower them (I can go one notch lower on the side mounts). Better pics tomorrow!
EDIT – A few more pics of the seats in daylight:
Excuse the crappy shot!
Since this photo I’ve dropped the seats one notch down at the front (you can make out 3 holes in the photo) and the back of the side mounts and I’m sitting a lot lower now which feels a lot better (to me).
View from the boot. Those huge stickers are FIA stickers which I’ll leave on for now.
Today I was booked in at TOP-ONE to get a few things done.
– New Forge water bottle reservoir from Ian at Rennenhaus was fitted.
– Rear wheel well carpet put back in as the noise that the little rocks my tyres were picking up was giving me the shits.
– UNIbrace UB installed.
– Eurospec Auto titanium exhaust tips installed.
– Recaro pole positions.
Everything went well except for the Recaro seat install. I’m getting the seat bases modified so I’ll have to wait a little longer to get the seats in but for now here are some progress pics!
Milltek tips came off (excuse the filthy car!).
Ti tips went on.
Flimsy old bracing came off.
UNIbrace UB went on.
Also spotted this NSX at the workshop. Not how I’d do it, but I have a thing for NSX’s (I’m always checking them out on carsales!).
Yesterday Christina and I headed out to THE-LOWDOWN & JDMST EOMM which was held at Autotechnik Tuning out west. We took the GT-R and I quickly realised I had no DC to plug the sat-nav into (I’ve ripped it out and replaced it with a battery cut-out switch!) so I had to print out some directions from Google (haha). We got there at about 10AM and the meet was already filling up (I had a spot reserved for me luckily!).
The weather was absolutely perfect (so nice to have that warm sun on my back) and some of the cars that rolled in absolutely blew my mind. So many cars had great stance and I had to pinch myself a couple of times (couldn’t believe I was in Sydney!). BBQ was awesome and the vibe was great too.
The Fonz!
This pic is so good.
Old vs New.
Ryan from THE-LOWDOWN
So clean, great stance.
