Awesome studio shoot with Lily. She’s a communications student and expressed interest in joining our team. Loved her energy, so who knows!

It’s R U OK? day today. The one day a year that most people will think that it’s OK to not be OK.
Having said that, it’s amazing that when I spoke out about not being OK on ZEN Garage I got smashed by a barrage of negative comments along the lines of “take your meds cunt!” and “he’s lost it, unfollow!”.
Let’s get real, every day should be R U OK day.
Yesterday I had a very close friend of mine call me in tears. She’s had a whole lot of shit go wrong for her in the past few months and she had hit rock bottom when her boss decided to fire her yesterday.
She was scared. I was scared.
In this particular case I felt that there was nothing I could say to help her. She obviously wasn’t OK, and just hearing her out wasn’t going to help change much so I suggested she see her GP (which she is today) and also to speak to Kimble Chan, a Hypnotherapist I met recently who helps people in dire straits on a daily basis.
Personally, no friends, web sites or YouTube videos did anything to help get me off the couch, but my GP saved my life by recommending me to a Psychiatrist.
If you know someone who’s fucked up, sure, ask them how they’re going, but if what you’re hearing freaks you the fuck out then suggest they see their GP, better yet pick them up and take them to their GP.
I think I’m starting to like shooting in the studio! @spacewalkagency
Had a great first shoot with Saskia last weekend. She’s an art nude model who’s great at pushing crazy shapes in the great outdoors, so getting her to chill out, laugh lots and pose less was something a little new to her. We also shot in the studio (I need all the practise I can get!).

Last Friday night Dianne, Nick and I represented industry and checked out INTRO, the 2019 Billy Blue grad show with an aim to potentially pick up some of this year’s bright sparks. Billy Blue has moved from North Sydney to Ultimo to one very cool space which looks and feels just like a top end agency (they’re actually in the same building as DDB Australia!).
Design lecturer and car guy Andy Wana gave us a guided tour and the multiple bars they had set up kept the refreshments flowing all night.
We wore 2 hats, both Threesome (looking for a junior designer) and Spacewalk (looking for photographers and motion work), happy to say we picked up a couple of cards; one student who had some Cinema 4D work on show, and another who created her own typeface.

Another shot that Nick took, but I’ve edited. I never have an issue with skin when I shoot with my Sony at 1.4 as most everything is blurry AF, but this studio set-up is so damn sharp and shows so much detail that it makes editing skin and hair pretty damn hard (and necessary!)!
