NSW 86/BRZ Car Club Toyo Tech Night

Last night Toyo hosted a tech night for the NSW 86/BRZ Car Club. I dropped in to check it out and I was pretty damn impressed with the huge turnout of 86’s and BRZ’s, all of which were modified (a stock one would have stood out!) and modified differently to each other too which was cool.

I’m always nervous shooting without natural light, but with some encouragement from my main man Ved I felt confident and ended up with a few decent shots!

Photoshoot with Maya

Sometimes, for no good reason at all, shit happens and life gets pretty fucked up.

Yesterday I hung out with Maya, who’s been through the wars lately. She’s such a beautiful soul, and deserves nothing but the best, but heart break and losing her job all at the same time has sent her into a downward spiral.

Nothing quite like a good hike to reset your head. We spent the day in the sun talking about the big stuff. Maya’s bouncing back. Saturn Return. I’m just happy she’s smiling.

Nano Reef – Fluval Edge 2 – More corals

I have an amazing Elegance Coral from Adam at Aquarium Excellence and 2 new pieces which I bought from Reef Secrets, online. The bi-colour torch is such a sweet piece, but the purple and green hammer is HUGE! It’s way too big for my tank. I’ve put it on the sand bed for now, but I might at some stage have to either break it up so I can arrange it on my rock work, or pass it on.

I also have a new Tunze algae scraper. Expensive but it does a much better job than the Two Little Fishies one, getting into the sand bed and also the corners of the tank. The Two Little Fishies one is perfect for pushing air bubbles from the top of the tank though (which gives me that Fluval Edge top down view).

Finally got to shoot with Danie Kara yesterday. I’ve bumped into Danie more than a few times in the past few years. She drives a modified EVO, she’s into Kicks, she’s addicted to ink and hangs out with Ian Baker a bit, so a shoot was inevitable?!

The shoot was awesome. I knew she was going to be a mad girl to talk to and shoot with. I’m now in a situation where I’ve got lots of similar images, and I’m having a hard time choosing which ones to edit!

Shot with Marinella yesterday, a girl I’ve been wanting to shoot with for a while now. Super photogenic, and she’s a great graphic designer too! We ended up only taking a couple of shots, and decided to eat at Brooklyn Boy Bagels and talk shit instead!

Movie Car Mania!

Had an awesome day yesterday tagging along with Ved from Selectnine who was filming and shooting the SUNUS Motorsports LB M3 and a meeting with Mr Liberty Walk himself, Kato-san for Heasman Steering.

Kato-san arrived at Heasman Steering direct from the airport, meeting and greeting the Heasman Steering crew and having in-depth suspension related discussions with Brad Heasman. He was also given an all access tour of the Heasman Steering facility.

We then headed off to MotorEx. Nothing beats set-up day. No crowds, just the true enthusiasts getting their cars ready for the show. It feels like such a privilege! Andrew Spira intriduced me to living legend George Barris too. George designed the 60’s Batmobile (which I grew up watching on TV). AMAZING!!!

Nano Reef – Fluval Edge 2 – MP10 QuietDrive

The MP10 is tiny inside the tank as the motor is on the outside (which also keeps the heat outside of the tank)! Such a smart design.

As you can tell. I’m totally fish geeking out lately! My MP10 wave maker arrived in the mail today! What a relief! It’s been over a month (ordered and paid for it on the 11th of JUNE!). I’m so happy with it (corals are going to be happy too!).

Got took delivery of 2 small bits of a orange hammer in the mail today from 100% Reef Safe in QLD. They were packed really well, with a heat pack and a couple of chupa chups even!
