Kuwahara V3

Re-issue Dia Compe brakes from the states.

Name and shame! The brakes came wrapped up in this freaky double page spread of a local newspaper.

North Georgia Busted!

The new frame (came with BB + headset which I removed to replace with chrome bits).

Dropout detail.

Brake boss detail.

All done.

I managed to find myself a genuine Kuwahara re-issue frame in chrome as I didn’t think the black frame I had was cutting it. The frame came in today. I was meant to get to Top One to work on the car, then fix the alignment but I had to wait around for a live stock delivery (peppermint shrimp for the fish tank) so instead I worked on the car (removed spacers to stop the rubbing) and I got busy working on the Kuwa too.

It’s come up like it was before, except now it’s a genuine Kuwahara frame as opposed to some knock-off cheapy. I’m happy, hands are sore, it’s 4.30PM, where are my shrimp?

Belated B’day gift from the Gypsy!

My good old design buddy Luca from Like Minded Studio sent me a beautiful belated B’day gift. The message and artwork itself blows me away, but the little inscription he wrote on the back takes the cake and it just makes my day. I’m in awe of this guys generosity, and this gift just reminds me of how he and I met, and the great times in between then and now.

He’s one crazy talented Gypsy! I’ve been in awe of his style, and attitude from day one. To check out more of his work visit: www.likemindedstudio.com

ADVAN Neova’s – MKV gets new shoes

Fresh ADVAN Neova rubber. Probably one of the sexiest tread patterns on any semi so far!

Tucking at the back, sticking out at the front.

A little Mexican, sticking out too far. I need to adjust camber plates to dial in more camsber, unfortunately I can’t reach the camber plates though!!! Grr!!!!

Got my new ADVAN Neova tyres fitted today. They’re a little wider at 235’s instead of the R888’s 225’s (to meet load rating). I had massive dramas with the tyre install and alignment place, but I won’t mention any names. I’m currently rubbing like a mofo front and back but I’m booked in with Doug at Heasman’s tomorrow for some of his magic loving.

Dejavu

Archibald was great this year, so much more technical than previous years I thought.

Great stuff at the AGNSW right now. Lower floors, go, go now.

Got wood?

Falling leaves at Botanical Gardens.

I’d never seen the succulent garden before in the park, so so so good!

Lunch at Otto (very nice!).

Drinks at The Opera Bar. Vivid Sydney is on right now, despite the cold there were heaps of snappers out and about to check out the crazy projections. We’re sure Vivid is just going to get better and better every year.

Mahon Pool

Crispy morning, and Shiri’s last day in Sydney so I took him down the road to show him my pool.

They just put this new sign in. Sea dragons at the pool? I doubt it, blue ring octopi? I hope not!

Shiri loaded 3 cameras for his little weekend trip. This one was a beauty.

What an epic viewfinder. Bliss!

Watch this space!

How porno is this space?!?!?! Blank canvas. Creative freedom. I’ve got a new project on the boil that involves converting this massive empty warehouse space into a retail store + office space (on mezzanine).

It’s all hush hush for now, but I’m excited. The stars are aligning!

Golf MKV GTI Update

Spotted outside: Budi’s Autotechnik Tuning Honda Odyssey. I’m sure the drop is coming.

Spotted inside: This S2K gets more trackcore every time I see it.

Broken drivers side front CROSS coilover – end link tab had snapped clean!

New KW Clubsport coilovers vs old and broken CROSS coilovers.

I love camber :)

New SB brake rotors to replace cracked and noisy Brembo rotors.

All installed, need more camber and new tyres (Monday) and wheel alignment after that.

Race Fuel at Indy’s. I then dropped into IS Motor Racing to say G’day to Indy and a mate Dave.

Dave’s EG Civic (Paul’s old car). Old school Mugen rims and fresh Porsche GT3 Red paint.

Dave wanted Indy to install a set of DC2R pedals for him. Indy said fuck you, do it yourself. DIY! LOL so Dave got busy and I project managed (haha).

My driveway is pretty smooth and low, even so I scrape the front lip every time, not to mention one wheel goes up in the air like a dog cocking it’s leg to pee!

Car. is. always. dirty…

I also replaced the rear Green Stuff brake pads with Ferodos. Check them out, crazy crumble… never again!

David’s R32.

Big guy, big heart.

Stiff Pipe!

Howie’s Porker.

Anoop’s MKVI GTI.

My MKV GTI.

Oven Baked Organic Schnitzel, the (slightly) healthier option!

The tradition of meeting up on the 1st Wednesday night of every month with the Sydney VWGolf.net.au guys continues, tonight we ate at The Bavarian at EQ. Small turnout as the 1st of the month caught us all off guard, always good company though, small crew, or big!
