Rockpool

Last night Mum treated me to Rockpool Bar & Grill for my B’day. This time around they blew our socks off. The entree’s were awesome, the steak is the best, hands down, the sides were perfect and we ordered nearly every single dessert to share (such a good idea!).

rockpool-menu
The sexy menu, printed daily, it’s A3, massive, I wanted to take it home.

saucers
I wanted to take these sexy coasters home too. Perfect thing to put under your wine (which I had way too much of, yup, headache all day today).

ribeye
300day grain fed (which rules over grass fed every time) rib-eye.

My sis & Richie.

bday-cupcake
Even my B’day cup cake was killer! Definitely the best cup cake I’ve ever had in my life. M O I S T !

jess
Jess with the rhubarb pie.

100% loved it, best steak in Sydney. Will go back (again & again).

More JDM goodies for the Golf

defi
52mm Defi’s!

nuts
My new KICS PROJECT wheel bolts. How awesome are they huh? One is a lock nut but all of them have a special cover which installs with a special tool (I’ve taken a cover off the far right one, tool is above it). It’s another added level of security from thieves and it also finishes off your wheel bolts very nicely.

Garden Plans

garden-plan

We’ve got a huge garden, it’s wild too. I love it as there are some MASSIVE trees in it (which the neighbours up the hill hate as they’re blocking off their ocean views!).

I’ve recently met Stephen Whitteridge, a cool landscape consultant. Great guy, great vibe. I sent him a few images of Amano’s fish tanks, which reflect nature perfectly (in my opinion). Stephen was blown away by Amano’s work and has come up with the initial sketch above. A fish pond and secret places in the garden! I love it. I’ll get busy tweaking the pond a little but all in all it’s a great start. We’re excited :)

I woke the monster up today.

The beast started up 1st go, lumpy as all hell but it held idle (just). Outside was filthy, inside was mouldy so I spent a little bit of time cleaning up. I was out of fuel too so I headed off to fill it up then drove to Indy’s (IS Motor Racing):

beast-is-back

I’m ripping out the exhaust and putting a quiet Fujitsubo on. I’m also going to rip out the boost controller and install a new HKS one. The 4WD torque converter will go too and so will the HID’s.

I left the beast with Indy from IS Motor Racing and Suga and I hit Bankstown for some Pho An.

pho-an
So pho so good!

We then dropped in to JDMyard.com in Revesby, the boys were getting busy for a track day tomorrow:

apr-mirrors
APR brand mirrors on this DC2R were soooo tiny. The smallest carbon mirrors I’ve ever seen on a car.

k20a
Like many worked Integra’s this one was running a K20A engine, complete with a quad throttle body set-up.

yonas-egk24a
Yonas’ EG Civic with a K24A engine from an Accord Euro. 1.08’s around Wakefield at the moment. 11sec at WSID drags. NO TURBO front wheel drive. Impressive huh?

advan-rz
I then spotted my new toys in the warehouse! OH YEAH!

I had a set of EBC Red Stuff pads to pick-up too. The boys hadn’t had time to unpack all the boxes but Yonas will drop my Gauges off to Top One on Wednesday.

I also received the wheels for my V35 Skyline which I sold for the GTI :( Sad as these 20inch wheels are delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ssr-rear
20inch, yup they were HUGE!

ssr-rear-dish
Got dish?

We then dropped the wheels off to Blairs Tyres in Peakhurst to get my Toyo R888’s fitted. I’ll pick them up tomorrow!

Happy Birthday to me

My Facebook exploded with Happy B’day messages yesterday. Super overwhelming to be honest! I’m glad it’s not real life as I had planned to go under the radar and just have a super lazy old man day!

I woke up to sounds and smells in the kitchen. Christina baked me a yummy banana muffin for brekkie.

She wanted to take me out to lunch somewhere nice. I wasn’t up for something too fancy so I thought we’d go to the Cosmopolitan Cafe in Double Bay. As a family we used to have lunch here. I was just a kid back then and I’d always order the Spag Bol. The Cosmopolitan is still there, it’s renovated but amazingly the Spag Bol is just how I remembered it. Finely minced bolognese, it hit me like that scene out of ratatouille.

Where’s the smile? You know being 35 plays on my mind (and I’m an in your head kinda person). I’m just glad it’s Monday, busy week this week so expect more blog updates than usual!

PS: Happy B’day to Megan Fox too, yew!

Korean BBQ with the girls.

Last night we hit Strathfield for dinner with the girls. Strathfield used to be their stomping ground in high school so the girls had heaps of reminiscing to do whilst us guys in the corner happily talked shit all night.

Junji and Jon in the boys corner.

Hite my fave Korean beer.

Bassim Restaurant, the most smokey Korean BBQ experience I’ve ever had. Ridiculous!

Same same

The wheels on the Ford ute + Holden Astra across the road look terribly similar to Tendy’s OEM BMW X5 wheels huh?
